Ordering with Tasty Bakes

Ordering your cake should feel exciting and stress-free. Here’s a simple overview of the cake ordering process and what to expect:

Booking & Payment

To secure your cake booking with Tasty Bakes, a non-refundable booking fee is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due four weeks before your event. For bookings within that four-week window, full payment is required upfront.

Cake Design

Every cake design is bespoke and handcrafted just for you. We’ll take inspiration from your ideas, images, or colour swatches, and each cake will always have its own unique finish. Please note that colours, florals, and decorative elements may vary slightly due to seasonal availability and the handmade nature of our work.

Allergies & Dietary Needs

Our cakes are baked in a kitchen that handles nuts, gluten, dairy, and eggs. While we take great care, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free product. Please ensure your guests are aware of this.

Collection & Delivery

Cakes can be collected by appointment from our Willunga Studio, or delivered and set up at your venue with our cake delivery service (fees apply depending on distance and cake size).

Cake Care

Cakes are delicate and need to be treated with care. Transport on a flat surface in a cool car, keep out of direct sunlight, and never leave unattended in hot conditions. Fondant cakes should not be refrigerated, but are best enjoyed at room temperature for ideal flavour and texture.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ordering Cakes:

Q: How do I order a cake from you?

A: Please complete our request a quote form. We will email a quote back to you within a few days. Please check your spam email if we haven’t appeared in your inbox. Your quote will include instructions on how to pay your Booking Fee; once we’ve received that, your date is secured in our diary.

Q: How much notice do you need for a cake order?

A: As a small family-run studio we do have limited capacity, so the sooner you enquire, the more likely we’ll be able to secure your date.

Q: We’re not completely sure on our cake design yet, can we lock in the date with you so we don’t miss out?

A: Yes! You can secure your date with a Booking Fee, even if you’re not 100% sure on the design yet. The finer details can be confirmed later.

Q: How much cake should I order?

A: Serving size depends on your occasion, what else is being served, and your budget. As a guide: coffee serves are 1×1”, dessert serves are 1×2”, and party serves are 2×2”. Most of our cakes are around 5” tall. If you’re unsure, we’re happy to recommend sizes to suit your guest numbers.

Q: What flavours are available?

A: You can view our Flavours section for our most popular options, but this isn’t exhaustive – we’re always happy to tweak or trial new recipes if you’re after something different.

Q: What if I need to reschedule my cake booking?

A: Full Terms & Conditions are provided with your invoice regarding postponement or cancellation.

Q: Can we try before we buy?

A: Throughout the year we hold tasting dates. You can book in online here.

Q: Do you deliver or do I need to collect my order?

A: We offer both options, with collection by appointment from our Willunga Studio. For stacked or carved cakes, we highly recommend delivery. Full Terms & Conditions are provided with your invoice.

Q: I fancy some cupcakes – can I pop round?

A: As we operate a home based studio, visits are strictly by appointment only. We don’t keep cakes sitting around – everything is freshly made to order. You may well catch us on a baking day though, so please do message in case!

Q: Some of our guests have dietary restrictions – can we still order our cake from you?

A: Many of our cakes can be adapted to be gluten free, dairy free, nut free, or vegan. While we take great care, our kitchen does handle nuts, gluten, dairy, and eggs, so we cannot guarantee an allergen-free product. Please ensure your guests are aware of this.
